Feeding and Spreading: The material is evenly spread onto the topmost mesh belt via a vibrating feeder or conveyor. Inter-layer Discharge and Tumbling: The mesh belts circulate in an “S”-shaped pattern (from top to bottom). When the material reaches the end of a given layer, it falls onto the mesh belt of the next layer. During this discharge and tumbling process, the material is automatically turned over, ensuring uniform heating on all sides. Hot Air Circulation: Hot air is generated by an induced draft fan or a hot air furnace. A vertical cross-flow configuration is typically used (where hot air passes through the mesh belts and material layers from bottom to top or top to bottom), enabling efficient and thorough heat and mass transfer between the hot air and the material, thereby removing moisture. Moisture Removal and Discharge: Moisture is exhausted from the machine through the top vent, and the dried material is continuously discharged from the bottom-most mesh belt.
